i really enjoyed the trip from florida this past april. it is an adventure, without much adventure, that i will treasure. i wish it could have lasted longer and been more than the occasional rest stop and crab lunch in maryland. nevertheless, the lewes-cape may ferry alone would have made the trip worth every minute. flash to the early morning rises to reach the first ferry so many times, so many years ago. coffee extra regular at what seemed to be 3 in the morning, last minute necessities gathered and crammed into the vehicle for use over the next many hours, the final destination either assateague or florida. the love of the road trip instilled at a young age by ernie. 

i promised myself that if the trip happened in april, with ernie, with dad, i would make good on an unpromised, and therefore unfinished, arrangement. the trip happened. let the arrangement begin.
